MY ROLE AS A HARTFORD PARALYMPIC ATHLETIC AMBASSADOR

A dramatic change in my life that took place in 2002 resulted in the loss of my left foot, my right ankle was shattered, and I ended up with a 16” rod in my right leg. My life changed, but my path didn’t. I set my mind on getting back into athletics and competition, and that’s what I did. Learn more about my athletic career here.

Instead of letting that accident close doors, I chose a path that would open up more doors than I could have ever imagined. One of those doors was the Hartford Paralympic Athletic Board. As a board member and ambassador, I have the opportunity to support the community I’m so proud to be a part of. As an ambassador, I have had speaking engagements to groups of 15-2000 people. I am able to share my story with and educate healthcare professionals around the nation.

MY ROLE AS A FINANCIAL EDUCATOR

As a mortgage professional, I ask people and families to trust me to guide them through a really important process, the outcome of which can greatly affect their future. Through my years in the mortgage profession, I have come to realize that continuing education is extremely important. Because I invest so much in staying educated, I am able to share that with others. I love that I can share my passion for and knowledge of this profession with local universities and high schools. I also instruct classes at businesses and other educational institutions. And finally, I am a certified instructor for NAMB courses or other mortgage professionals.
